Fire on the Water, Fireworks Show - Presented by the City of Pelham and Oak Mountain State Park
Join us Monday, July 3rd, 2023, for Fire on the Water, the City of Pelham’s annual fireworks show here at Oak Mountain State Park!
Annual passes are valid on July 3rd, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For those who are not pass holders, regular entrance fees apply until 5:00 p.m. From 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Pelham residents only will receive a special rate of $10 per vehicle. You must be able to show proof of residency. Everyone else receives a special rate of $15 per vehicle, so carpool and save! Both gates take cash and card payments.
Both gates will close to the public at 7:00 p.m., so please plan accordingly. This will ensure the safety of all OMSP visitors leading up to the fireworks show, which will begin at 9:00 p.m. sharp! Campground guests and cabin guests will be let in and out of the park through the Back Gate after 7:00 p.m.
Flip Side Watersports will join us again this year for jaw-dropping wakeboarding entertainment beginning at 5:00 p.m. These athletes are some of the top wakeboarders in the nation, so it's going to be a great show! DJ Blaze Entertainment will keep the crowd energized all night long! We'll have food and beverage vendors on site and items available to purchase beginning at 5:00 p.m. No outside alcohol is allowed.
Keep in mind our gates open at 7:00 a.m. daily, so we encourage you to plan to spend the day exploring the park.
The Alabama Wildlife Center will host Bald Eagle Talks throughout the day - Or—beat the heat inside the Oak Mountain Interpretive Center and meet some of our "Teacher Creatures." Sessions begin at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., and you'll be allowed to get up close and personal with slithery and scaly friends. Did we mention it's air-conditioned?!
We also have beach volleyball, the Treetop Nature Trail, playgrounds, basketball courts, and fishing piers in the show's vicinity for you to enjoy all day. You can bring your own chairs/blankets for viewing the show, and you will be allowed to bring in your own coolers if you choose (just remember: no outside alcohol is allowed). Picnic tables are available throughout the event area, and there are grills scattered throughout the park that are open to the public! Picnic tables and grills are first come, first served.
Pelham Police and Fire, Park Rangers, and DCNR Game Wardens will be on site for the event to ensure public safety!
