Winter Solstice Hike:
The Winter Solstice marks the day with the shortest period of daylight and the longest night of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere), all thanks to the tilt of the earth. In many cultures, the day is a day of feasting and celebration, or you can spend it on a relaxing hike at Joe Wheeler State Park!
Join Park Naturalist Sam Woodroof on a 3-mile hike around our multi-use trail (a map of our trails can be downloaded here).
