Two Alabama State Park amenities recently received renovations and are ready for reservations:
The Mountain Top Chalets at Lake Guntersville State Park and the Cabins at Lakepoint State Park are now in tip-top shape. Both of these projects have been under construction for several months and ready for the public, just in time for the holidays.
The updated chalets at Lake Guntersville State Park were introduced to the public on November 16, 2021. ADCNR Commissioner, Chris Blankenship and local elected officials helped with the ribbon-cutting.
“Renovating the chalets at Lake Guntersville has been a dream and a goal for a long time, and we believe these renovations will make them even more attractive for our guests,” Blankenship said. “People really love them, and they’ve been extremely loyal, gracious and patient with us while we worked to make this dream into a reality.
The 18 renovated chalets have undergone a complete transformation, with new flooring and roofs. The most notable difference, though, is the updated, modern interiors that have a rustic and sophisticated vibe. Reservations for these Chalets can be made online or by calling the park at 256-571-5440.
The mountaintop chalets provide some of the area’s best views of Lake Guntersville from the crest of Taylor Mountain. The renovation project took 16 months to complete, according to park officials, at a cost of $2.2 million.
The updated cabins at Lakepoint State Park were completed in recent weeks.10 of the 29 cabins have been updated with the remaining cabins set to renovated this Winter. The cabins received new flooring, fresh paint, remodeled bathrooms and kitchens and updated appliances. Updates to the exterior are in the plans, as well.
Reservations for these Cabins can be made by calling the park at 334-687-8011.
