Housekeeping & Front Office Position
Duties & Responsibilities:
As part of Roland Cooper State Park Staff, this employee will do a variety of jobs that are essential in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and customer service at the park. This employee will need to have knowledge and capabilities of:
- Cabin upkeep: Cleaning of cabins inside & outside and maintaining inventory of cabin items
- Launder linens, towels, and rags
- Assist in cleaning and upkeep of bathrooms, shower houses, and office
- Knowledge of cleaning products and their uses
- Report maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Opening and closing of reservation/ POS system and preparing daily arrivals/departures
- Provide exceptional customer service in person & on the phone; new reservations/ modifications
- Assist with guest check-ins; collecting payments; and explaining park features & rules
- Assist in retail operations: selling retail items; restocking inventory
- Assist with camp site clean-up and monitoring of vehicle tags throughout the park
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license
- Must have the skills, abilities, and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities independently, as well as communicate and work with others
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, kneel, crouch, and bend as needed to perform tasks
- Must be able to tolerate season/ weather changes and work in heat/ humidity as needed
This is a 40 hour per week position. Must be able to work weekends. Must be able to work holidays as needed. The hourly pay rate is $10.75 - $11.59 based on experience. This position is eligible for benefits immediately. Regulations pertaining to salary and benefits are governed by State Personnel and cannot be negotiated.
Maintenance Technician & Landscaping Position
Duties & Responsibilities:
As part of Roland Cooper State Park Staff, this employee will do a variety of jobs that are essential in maintaining proper operation of the park. This employee will need to have knowledge and capabilities of:
- Identifying and rectifying safety issues around the park and buildings
- Perform electrical duties (replace bulbs, receptacles, breakers, etc)
- Assist in maintenance and service of HVAC units
- Maintain plumbing systems
- Daily checking and maintenance of sewer treatment plant
- Assist with camp site clean-up and monitoring of vehicle tags throughout the park
- Misc other maintenance items around the park, including but not limited to: carpentry; painting; repairing locks, windows, appliances, etc.
- Assist with maintenance and inventory of tools and supplies
- Knowledge of and ability to operate and maintain mowing equipment
- Seasonal mowing, weedwacking, and overall landscaping of the park
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Volunteer Opportunities:
Camp Host:
Roland Cooper State Park is taking continuous applications for Camp Hosts
This a volunteer (non-paid) position in exchange for a free campsite. Volunteering as a camp host is a long-term partnership between a Camp Host and the Park. What does being a Camp Host entail? We’re glad you asked! Camp Hosts: Stay for several months (maximum of six months), with preference given to those who can commit to at least three months. In exchange, hosts receive a complimentary full hook-up campsite & free access to laundry facility.
Main Duties include:
o Cabin cleaning
o Bath house (restroom & shower) cleaning
o Site clean-up before & after guests
o Landscaping (mower, weed whacking, branch clean up)
o Helping guest and customers (answering questions during the day & available after hours when approached with questions)
Additional duties, as needed:
o Maintenance repairs & project assistance (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC are helpful skills, but not required)-
o Checking in guests & selling store items as needed
