Race to the Cave Half Marathon and 10K Run
DESCRIPTION
Yearly half marathon and 10K runs held in March!
The race starts on the roads of a beautiful valley and ends with a 1.2 mile finish through the Cathedral Cavern Cave!
Average Temperatures at this time of year range from 40-63 degrees
SHIRTS & AWARDS
The race shirt will be a tri blend t-shirt shirt (unisex sizing).
Age group awards will be: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+ for the half marathon.
ALL runners will receive a sweet finisher medal.
PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup will be on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 @ Fleet Feet Sports Huntsville from 12-5pm. Fleet Feet is located at 2722 Carl T Jones Dr SE B2, Huntsville, AL 35802. Also, there will race day packet pick up at Cathedral Caverns State Park under the tent in the parking area (start line) from 630am-7:45am but we encourage you to get there as early as possible!

There are no refunds, credits or friend/ family transfers on entries. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event as left over shirts are donated.
AID STATIONS
Aid stations will be provided on the course with everything from water, gatorade, coke, pretzels, m&m's, and more.

CUTOFF TIME
The race cutoff time for the half marathon is 4 hours (18:20 mi/pace) and 2.5 hours (25:00 mi/pace) for the 10K.
POST RACE
After the race, each participant will receive a free pulled pork barbeque sandwich and chips.
Other snack options are available for purchase inside the park gift store.
LODGING
Lodging will be available at the Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge. Call 256-505-6621 to make a reservation. To ensure that you receive the special rate extended to the race, please mention you are with the Cathedral Caverns Trail Run – Group Code 9712. The Lodge is approximately 35-40 minute away from Cathedral Caverns State Park (race site).
