Water skiing and personal watercraft are also allowed on the lake. Visit the park today as see what residents of Florala enjoy year-round.

Nature

The main attraction is Lake Jackson itself. Considered one of the cleanest and clearest bodies of water in Alabama, visitors can spend an entire day swimming, boating and fishing. The lake is inviting year-round for campers seeking to avoid those harsh winter months up north. The park is also a perfect spot for area day-cationers who want the white sands and crystal clear waters of the Gulf without the long drive.

Florala City Park is also a stop on Alabama’s Wiregrass birding trail. Waterfowl, song birds and raptors including osprey and Bald eagles are common sites in the park.

Accommodations

The campground has 28 campsites with 50-amp electrical service, water and sewage, picnic tables and grills, a bathhouse with coin operated laundry, and a large pavilion available on a first come, first serve basis. The day use area boasts a 200-foot pier, several picnic pavilions, and is connected via the walking trail to the Florala City Wetlands Park, which consists of an elevated platform that meanders under a wetland canopy.

Florala City Park also features the Rodney J. Evans Conference Center and Amphitheater, a 10,000 sq. ft. multi-use facility is available for rent for various civic and private functions. The Evans Center is equipt with a kitchen area and convertible meeting rooms. The facility can accommodate up to 350 people.
