ACTIVITIES & EVENTS | LAKE GUNTERSVILLE

Lake Guntersville State Park rests along the banks of the Tennessee River in Northeast Alabama. Whether you are looking for a resort-style retreat or an outdoor adventure in the 6,000 acres of natural woodlands, Lake Guntersville State Park will satisfy all your needs. Among the many recreational offerings are an 18-hole championship golf course, the Screaming Eagle Zipline, a beach complex, an outdoor nature center, excellent fishing in Alabama's largest lake, 36 miles of hiking and biking trails, weekly guided hikes, and a day-use area.

Nature

One of the main attractions at the park soars high above all the others. Thanks to conservation efforts, Alabama's nesting bald eagle population is increasing, and Guntersville has become a focal point of Eagle Awareness in the state. Each year, on select weekends in January and February, the Park’s Eagle Awareness programs entertain and educate the public about our once-endangered national symbol.

Facilities

Are you making plans for your organization or company meeting? Our park houses a massive resort inn, restaurant, and convention center, perfect for national, state, or regional meetings. The convention center boasts meeting facilities large enough to easily accommodate a banquet or opening session and smaller breakout rooms to facilitate multiple groups. Make plans now for your next event to ensure availability. Reservations are available for up to two years in advance of your event.
