Join local photographers Terry Shell & Pat Stewart for an 8-hour photography workshop learning how to photograph local wildlife. You will spend a limited time in the classroom learning about your equipment and photography basics, then spend the day out shooting wildlife in and around Lake Guntersville State Park. You will shoot in the morning, take a break for lunch, then shoot in the afternoon. This will be a hands-on approach to better learn your equipment, learn where and when to find wildlife, and photograph using faster than normal shutter speeds, and larger apertures for low light conditions in early morning and late afternoon.

Topics will include but not limited to:

  • Introduction to basic photography vocabulary (Exposure Triangle, Shooting Modes, Depth of Field, Reading a Histogram, Live View, Etc.)
  • Required and optional gear (Camera, Tripod, ballhead, gimbal head, clothing etc.)
  • Shooting Locations
  • Focus modes(Group, spot, 9 point, 25 point, etc.), Back Button Focus(BBF)
  • Weather conditions and best time of the day to photograph wildlife

There is a max capacity of only 20 people for this class so that each attendee receives one-on-one time with a teacher to learn their own camera and equipment.

No shuttles will be provided for transportation. All attendees will have to drive personal vehicles to on-site shooting location. WE WILL CARPOOL TO SAVE SPACE AT SHOOTING LOCATIONS!
