First Day Hike - Sunrise Over Meaher
Sunrise Over Meaher!
Join us for a Guided Hike on Canecutter Trail as we follow the Gateway to the Delta out over Mobile Bay on New Year's Day!
Meet at Pavilion 2 across the road from the main shower house. Plenty of parking around the edges of the field surrounding the pavilion.
*Hike will begin at 6:00 AM! * Weather Permitting
We will be hiking initially through the center of the park towards the trail head at the Gateway to the Delta. Wildlife will be all around us just stirring as we are making our way to the boardwalk. We’ll keep an eye out (ears instead, maybe) for owls, osprey and possibly eagles… among other wildlife.
After sunrise we’ll meander toward the back beach watching for more wildlife and a chance to see our local honey bees in action.
All ages welcome. This is considered an easy hike on a pavement and grass and of course the boardwalk Wear weather appropriate clothing.
