Gulf State Park Field Trip Programs
School Year 2023-2024
Welcome to the Gulf State Park School Program list for the 2023 – 2024 school year. We look forward to guiding your students into a deeper understanding of our natural world and the amazing biodiversity of southern Alabama. Your students will enjoy making a personal connection with our animals and Park and leave with an appreciation of why the protection of our natural resources is important for everyone.
Program choices include:
Hands-on Naturalist Programs with Live Animals and Guided Walks
All programs include a Naturalist talk, a guided hike, hands on-activities, and access to our Nature Center, which is a Natural History Museum of southern Alabama ecosystems. Program length: 1 – 1.5 hours
Auditorium Programs with PowerPoints / Artifacts (no live animals)
Suggested Grade Level: Upper Elementary – High School
Programs include a Naturalist talk, artifacts, and access to our Nature Center, a Natural History Museum of southern Alabama ecosystems. Programs can be modified to meet specific curriculum or teacher needs. Program length: 1 hour
Prices:
For the best hands-on experience with our Naturalists, groups include up to 50 students for presentations. . Larger groups, please schedule multiple days.

To schedule a field trip, please fill out the school field trip reservation form, save it to you computer, and then email it to Hannah Russell, Head Naturalist at: Hannah.Russell@DCNR.Alabama.gov
Upon receipt of the form, Hannah will reach out to you (via email) and work with you to develop and schedule your class field trip.
