Campfire Talk: Stars, Moons and Planets

Join us for fun campfire talk in the Great Outdoors! Campfire Talks are a series of educational & entertaining programs located in the great outdoors. Campfire programs are held many Friday & Saturday evening (May –October) in DeSoto State Park.

A solar system is a star and all the objects that travel around it—planets, moons, asteroids, comets and meteoroids. The solar system we call home is located in an outer spiral arm of the vast Milky Way galaxy. Learn more about the stars, the planets and the moons of our solar system with Jacksonville State University’s Astronomer Dr. Laura Weinkauf.
