Free Fishing Day – A Great Time To Connect With Your Family

Discover just how much fun fishing can be when you do it together. No activity can bond a family together quite like fishing. It's a great way for families to have fun, create new memories and spend time together. Check out these events planned for Alabama’s Free Fishing Day on June 7:
Kid's All-American Fishing Derby -- A fishing derby for children ages five through twelve in celebration of National Fishing and Boating Week. Activities include a casting contest, fishing, lunch, and an awards ceremony. Participants should bring their own fishing gear and catfish bait. The event begins at at Bankhead National Forest Work Center (LookoutTower), Highway 33 North between Moulton and Double Springs. Contact Allison Cochran at (205) 489-5111.
9th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament -- Youth Fishing Tournament available to Children 15 years and younger, at the pond on Lowndes County Wildlife Management Area near White Hall from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded. Conecuh Youth Fishing Derby-- Events include a fishing derby, casting contests, informational booths, educational demonstrations, and lunch.
