Montgomery Teen Attends Boys State
June 09, 2003
Andrew Itson, a rising senior at Prattville Christian Academy, was one of two Boys State participants who recently visited the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. He met with wildlife and fisheries biologists, conservation enforcement officers, and other Conservation employees to learn about the Department’s programs and responsibilities.
Boys State is a program where each participant becomes a part of the operation of his local, county and state government. Each year boys from cities and towns across Alabama come to the State Capitol in Montgomery to learn about state government and visit state agencies.
Andrew, 17, son of Dennis and Nancy Itson of Montgomery, plans to become a park ranger or a teacher. He stated that he appreciated participating in Boys’ State, “to get a better understanding for government and how it works.”
