Fred Adams is the winner of a jon boat fishing package given away by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) at the recent Alabama National Fair in Montgomery. The giveaway was sponsored by Outdoor Alabama magazine, the official publication of the ADCNR.
Joe’s Motor Service, Inc. of Hartford, Alabama, donated the 14-foot Rhino jon boat. “For the third year, Joe’s Motor service provided a boat for the giveaway,” said Outdoor Alabama managing editor Kim Nix. Adams who was one of over 2,000 entrants who registered for the boat, was surprised and plans to put the boat to good use. Adams also received a one-year subscription to Outdoor Alabama magazine.
Additionally, second and third prizes were awarded from registrants. Debbie Nelson of Autaugaville won a tail-gate grill and Elizabeth Schaum of Montgomery received a propane fish cooker. A similar giveaway is planned for the 2008 Alabama National Fair.
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through five divisions: Marine Police, Marine Resources, State Lands, State Parks, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
