"Outdoor Alabama" TV Show to Debut April 2

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announces that the new "Outdoor Alabama" television show will debut on The Outdoor Channel April 2 at 6:30 p.m. CST. The 30-minute show will present Alabama’s abundance of natural resources and recreational opportunities to a nationwide audience of outdoor enthusiasts.

Each show features exciting hunting and fishing experiences in Alabama and also highlights the Department of Conservation’s programs, facilities and activities. The “Did You Know?” segment will present interesting facts and figures about the state’s natural resources. The “Destination Showcase” will profile Alabama State Parks and other sites that can be enjoyed by residents and tourists. The “Conservation Triumph” segment will document the many conservation success stories like the return of the Eastern bluebird, the nesting success of bald eagles and the growing populations of deer and turkey under the expert management of wildlife biologists.

The first show features a turkey hunt, Cheaha State Park, striper fishing, wild turkey restoration and the Forever Wild program.

"Outdoor Alabama" is hosted by an ADCNR employee, Conservation Enforcement Officer Kevin Dodd. The show is sponsored by the Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Foundation, ALFA Insurance and the Alabama Farmers Federation, Alabama Power, the Alabama Forests Forever Foundation, and the Alabama Bureau of Tourism and Travel.

"Outdoor Alabama" airs every Friday at 6:30 CST. If The Outdoor Channel is not available on the local cable system, individuals should call and request it or see their local satellite retailer.
