Walker County Public Fishing Lake to Reopen on March 21

Walker County Public Fishing Lake will reopen on Friday, March 21, 2014, under the operation of new lake manager Charlie Skalnik. The lake had been temporarily closed pending the hiring of a new lake manager. The 163-acre lake is located three miles southeast of Jasper, Ala., off US Highway 78.
The lake offers public restrooms, a covered fishing pier, a boat ramp and a covered pavilion. Bait, fishing tackle and snacks may be purchased at the lake. In addition to a valid fishing license, a daily $3 fishing permit is required.
