Federal Shutdown Temporarily Closes Portions of 4 Alabama WMAs and 2 Shooting Ranges

The temporary closure of federal lands in Alabama means that portions of several Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) are also closed to the public. Officials with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announce that the following lands are temporarily closed:

As soon as the federal shutdown ends, the public can access the properties above.

During the temporary closure, the public is encouraged to take advantage of the many lands that remain open including other WMAs, Forever Wild Land Trust properties, Alabama State Public Fishing Lakes and Alabama State Parks.
