Campfire Talk: Caves and Critters

Did you know Alabama has over 4,800 caves and is home to the National Speleological Society? It's basically a caver's paradise! Join us as we celebrate International Year of Caves and Karst and International Bat Week. Auburn University Museum of Natural History’s Education Outreach Coordinator, Toni Bruner, has been a caver for 14 years and loves sharing her knowledge of our vast underground world. Participants will have the unique opportunity to see specimens including bats, cave shrimp & fossils as they learn about what life exists in extreme environments.

For more information email Mandy.Pearson@dcnr.alabama.gov or call (256) 412-9938. We are committed to providing programs that are educational, fun and safe. Family units will be spaced out from other family units. Hand sanitizer stations will be provided.
