Zombie Survival

July 12, 2018

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM ( noon)

What if Cheaha State Park was the last “safe zone” in our area after a multi-county zombie outbreak? Would your family know how to survive without modern conveniences? This fun, educational and useful workshop will teach students (ages 7-15 years; older students welcome!!) and their families how NOT to be found by zombies (camouflage and forest hide-n-seek), shelter building, fire building, water filtration, and basic first aid skills. Instructors include wildlife biologists, naturalists, paramedics, nurses, and other qualified staff. Includes all supplies, instruction, and a cookout (hot dog) lunch! An adult parent/guardian required to attend with children. No drop offs. This will be a zombie-free safe zone at Cheaha State Park's Leave No Trace Outdoor Classroom across from the CCC Museum/Tower. Sunset Hike

Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Cheaha State Park is known for its amazing sunsets. Every evening visitors are delighted to see a new painting in the western sky.  Enjoy an interpretive hike as the sun descends. Program is free with gate admission and to overnight guests.

Survival Bracelet Workshop

Time: 11:00 AM-1:00 PM

Paracord has many uses. Many people enjoy weaving paracord into survival bracelets. In this beginner class, participants will learn how to make two types of paracord bracelets.  All ages welcome but easier for 8 years and older. Supplies will be provided. Animal Encounter

Insects Campfire Talk
