Forest & Field: Native Plant Hike
Join us on an exploration of native plants along upper Hurricane Creek, among a stand of old growth Beech trees. Here you will get to see a wide variety of native plants, thriving within this protected land. 

The guided walk will be led by naturalist Robert Wilson. He will be teaching how to identify plants through certain characteristics and about their culinary or medicinal uses. 
What to bring: Sack lunch, water bottle. Optional items: notebook and pencil, camera 
Date: Saturday June 24, 2017
Time: 10:00am-1:00pm
Where: DeSoto State Park-Fort Payne, Alabama. Meet at the Nature Center next to the Country Store on Co. Rd. 89. Will take a short caravan to site.
Fee: Free, but pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 10. Hike is open to ALL ages; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Email for more info. Pre-register here
