Invasive Plant Round Up at Monte Sano State Park, Scenic Overlook

Join us Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon at the Monte Sano State Park, Scenic Overlook, (past the campground and office).  This is a great public service project! High Schools and college students needing to do a public service project are invited!  Kids can also help!  The weather will probably be in the 50's so dress appropriately!  Call Susan Weber (256) 539-3747 for more details, or call the park office (256) 534-3757.  We will need long handled loppers, foldings saws, weed wackers with brush blade, a long handled pruning saw and gloves!  Susan will also have some extra tools.

Monte Sano State Park's 2,140 acre mountaintop retreat combines the history of the parks 1930's Civilian Conservation Corps-era cottages with the technology of the Space and Rocket Center City below.  So in the midst of the city, one can still retreat to the park to enjoy scenic hiking trails, picnic areas, modern campsites and quaint, pet-friendly, rustic cottages with an unforgettable view.  So...come out and help us keep Monte Sano beautiful and enjoy nature with us for this worthwhile public service project!
