The Chewacla Nature Center

Located in the Playground

Join us as we begin our education program. The staff and a number of volunteers have been improving a former CCC-era pump house. Originally used to bring water to the rest of the park, it was disestablished with the introduction of city water to the park. We hope that it will grow into a thriving and sustained nature center.

With information about Chewacla’s history, native flora and fauna, and the one of a kind geological formations that have shaped our area. Campfire talks are offered throughout the year on various weekends. With prior scheduling, guided hikes are available to groups.

Be sure to let us know when you’d like to come visit, since the Nature Center is only open by appointment.
