Cheaha Wilderness Women Weekend
A workshop taught by women with a vision of helping other women become their strongest, best selves, while providing solid instruction in wilderness enjoyment, travel, and outdoor skills.

This event is still in the planning stage (March 2018). Some of this information may change. For women ages 16 years and older. (Under 19 must be accompanied by mother/guardian.) Several of our instructors have taught (and still teach) Alabama DCNR Becoming an Outdoor Woman (BOW) for many years or have extensive expertise in outdoor recreation. We decided that Alabama needs a mountain version of outdoor skills with ALL women instructors. We are limiting this first year to 50 participants. Fee: $125 per person. Non-refundable after August 1, 2018.

August 17-19, 2018
Location: Lake Cheaha Group Camp, Lake Cheaha Recreation Area and Trails
Taught by the Dragonfly Tribe (Women outdoor experts…you will be inducted at the end of the event!)
Participants will need to supply their own tent or sleeping hammock, sleeping bag, flash light, personal needs, drinks and breakfasts. (You may also make reservations for cabin/chalet/hotel lodging in the park: lodging cost is separate from the ticket. Ticket includes tent camping only.)

Friday August 17th:
Check In at 5:30 pm (Lake Cheaha Recreation Area)
