LAKE EUFAULA FISHING REPORT
Water Level : 188.64 (Full pool is 190)
Surface Temp 64-68°
Water Clarity is Clear
Bass – Good
Right now is the best of both worlds. Fishing is good in the shallows as well as deep water. You really have to just be out there at the right time. Shallow fish are in the grassy areas near deep water. Best top water baits include Pastis Frogs, Hard bodied top water baits like Pop-R's and Zara Spooks, and Chub Bugs. Swim jigs in the grass in green pumpkin color w/ green pumpkin trailers. Pastic worms rigged Texas style in green pumpkin, watermelon candy, and black w/red flakes.
Small spinnerbaits in shad colors and skirts are also doing well.
Really nice fish are on the creek and river ledges 15-22 ft deep. Use deep cranking crankbaits in shad colors, and deep cranking spinnerbaits in shad colors w/gold blades. Carolina rigged worms in green pumpkin and watermelon candy and of course my favorite Junebug. Fish these slowly as these fish are slow to react.
Crappie – Good
Fish are in 8 - 15ft of water near or in wood structure. Use live minnows and jigs
Hybrids – Fair
Active early and late that is the key. Look for diving birds to locate the schools. Rat-L-Traps, Jigging spoons and tail spinners do best.
Bream – Good
These fish are found in grassy areas in creeks and flats. Night crawlers, small spinners and crickets are best
Catfish – Good
Use cut bait and commercial catfish bait on bottom 5-15 ft deep. Real good fishing!
