Local Area Sightseeing

Located in the historic ante-bellum town of Eufaula, Lakepoint is near several interesting attractions. Within a five-to-ten mile radius are Shorter Mansion, a furnished neo-classical home housing a museum; Fendall Hall;  and the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge. The famous annual Eufaula Pilgrimage of Homes offers a lovely tour each spring of the town’s historic houses and an antique show and sale. Other sightseeing is within a fifty-to-sixty mile radius and includes Westville, Georgia, a functioning 1850’s pioneer village; Providence Canyon State Park; Fort Gaines; Walter F. George Lock and Dam; and Fort Rucker’s U.S. Army Aviation Museum, the largest aircraft display of its kind in the free world.
