Creative Spirit Market

Hosted by Little River Arts Council & DeSoto State Park

Adding a new twist to a typical art fair, this event is designed as an open air showcase, with artist demonstrations, locally & regionally created fine & folk art, premium hand-crafted goods, live acoustic music, as well as interactive kid's art area. Shoppers can browse and watch artists in their creative process, listen to music, plus purchase goods from fine and folk artists such as painters, potters, quilters, weavers & basket makers, fabric spinners, culinary artists and craftsmen. Some unique and one-of-a-kind gifts will be available for purchase. Stop by and get some early gift-shopping in!

We will have a wonderful lineup of musicians that are going to be playing during the Creative Spirit Market. Schedule will come soon!

Dates: November 11th & 12th 2017 (Second weekend of November)

Times: 10:00 am-3:00 pm each day

Location: DeSoto State Park-Fort Payne, Alabama. Country Store/Picnic Area on County Road 89

Where is the market held?

In scenic DeSoto State Park on Lookout Mountain, in Fort Payne, Alabama. The market will be held in the Country Store/Picnic Area on County Road 89.

    10:00 am-3:00pm on both days

 

How much is it to attend the market?

    This year the market is completely free to attend.

 

Are you looking for artists & craftsmen for the Creative Spirit Market?

What if it rains? Do we cancel the event?

   Creative Spirit Market takes place rain or shine but we prefer shine!

 

Is this an indoor or outdoor Festival? What is the terrain like?           

    The Creative Spirit Market is a primarily outdoor event, located in the DeSoto State Park Picnic Area/Country Store area. There is a mix of shade & sunny areas. The terrain around the picnic area is relatively flat, but there are roots & rocks in some areas. There is some handicapped- accessible areas, such as the CCC Pavilion and Country Store.

 

Is this a family-friendly event?

    Absolutely!  There is something for everyone, whether it be the shopping, live music, or visiting the kid corner.

 

Will there be live music?   

    Yes! There will be different performance artists playing every hour, between the hours of 12:00 noon & 3:00. Located in the picnic area, bring a comfortable camp chair! The schedule will be posted soon

 

Are pets allowed at the market?

    Dogs are allowed in the park, on a leash at all times.

 

Are there accommodations nearby?

    Yes! There are cabins, chalets, motel rooms, improved campsites for RVs/tents, and primitive camping area all located in DeSoto State Park. Nearby towns such as Fort Payne & Mentone have many lodging options. It is recommended that reservations be made as early as possible, as most lodging in the area fills up almost every weekend in the Fall.

 

Where is parking for the market?

    There is parking in the picnic area, the tennis court area, and in front of the Country Store.

 

Do you have handicap parking?

    Yes, but it is on a first come – first serve basis.

 

Can I volunteer to help at the market?

    Absolutely! We would love to have help. Contact LRAC here

 

How can I become a Food Vendor at the market?

    In order for any food to be sold, you must contact DeSoto State Park & apply: email . We would love to have food trucks or other vendors to come and set up!
